| Step
1: Start Outlook 97.
When Outlook has loaded you
should see a screen similar to the screenshot.
Go to the Tools Menu, then
select Services.
Proceed to Step 2.

2: You
should see a screen similar to the screenshot.
If you have "Internet
Mail" listed under 'The Following information services are setup in
this profile' then Proceed to Step 4.
OR
If you do not have this
service, click the Add button and Proceed to Step 3.

If your screen LISTS 'Internet Mail' listed,
proceed to Step 4 
If your screen DOES NOT LIST
'Internet Mail' listed, proceed to Step 3

3: You
should see a screen similar to the screenshot.
Select the Internet Mail
Service and Click OK.
You may be prompted for
your Windows Office 97 CD. Once the service is installed, you should see
it listed in the previous screen.
Single click on the
Internet Mail Service, and click the Properties button.
Proceed to Step 4.
This screen does
not always look the same. Some versions of Outlook 97 call Internet
Mail Internet E-mail |
You may need your
MS Office 97 CD-ROM at this point. |

4: You
should see a screen similar to the screenshot.
Full Name: Type what
you wish it to appear on your e-mails in the Full Name box.
E-mail Address: Type
in your COMPLETE EMAIL ADDRESS, such as:
email@intercape.com or
email@domainname.com
Internet Mail Server:
mail.intercape.com
(your complete email address IS your Account Name)
Account Name: Type in
your COMPLETE EMAIL ADDRESS
such as:
email@intercape.com or
email@domainname.com
Password: Type in
your email password
Click the Advanced
Options button and proceed to Step 5.

5: You
should see a screen similar to the screenshot.
If you are an InterCape
Internet Access subscriber who connects to the Internet using a modem,
choose:
CONNECT USING THE MODEM
Dial using the following connection: intercape
OR
If you are an InterCape
Internet Access subscriber who connects to the Internet on a office
network, choose:
CONNECT USING THE NETWORK

6: You
should see a screen similar to the screenshot.
Forward all outbound mail
to the following server box: send.intercape.com
NOTE: all InterCape
Internet Access subscribers should use: send.intercape.com as their
outbound mail server.
If you are a
InterCape Hosting subscriber but receive your internet access from a
different provider, use: mail.intercape.com - be sure to CHECK for
email before SENDING email out
Click OK.
Click OK until you are
completely out of the setup.
You may be prompted to
restart Outlook.
You will need to restart
Outlook before you will be able
to send and receive email.

Step 7:
Congratulations! You are now ready to use Outlook.
Connect to the Internet
as you normally would,
Start Outlook
Select Tools, then
Check Mail. - You should receive any mail if you have any waiting; if no
email is waiting for you, nothing will happen.
