Dialer Settings in Win 95/98 Dial Up Networking:

Dial Up Networking
Type of Dial-Up Service: PPP
Advanced Win95/98 Options should be set to:
Log on to Network: off (or unchecked)
Enable software compression: off
Require encrypted password: off
Allowed network protocols:
NetBEUI: off
IPX/SPX Compatible: off
TCP/IP: on or checked
TCP/IP Settings button:
Server assigned IP address: ON or Checked
(Specify an IP address: off )
IP address: 0.0.0.0 (grayed out)
Server assigned name server address: ON or Checked
Use IP header compression: ON
Use default gateway on remote network: ON

Double click MY COMPUTER on your desktop 
|
|
Double click DIALUP NETWORKING
|
|
Double click MAKE NEW CONNECTION
|
| Type in name of Computer you are dialing from: intercape
– click NEXT
|
| Telephone Number: <enter dialup number with
area code> – click NEXT – click FINISH
|
| You’ve Successfully setup your InterCape dialer
|
| an ‘intercape’ dialup icon will appear in
Dialup Networking – double click
the ‘intercape’ dialup icon
NOTE: You can put a shortcut to your InterCape Dialer on your desktop
by
Single, Left Click the intercape dialer and dragging it to your
desktop and a short cut
will be created. So when you want to log on to the Internet all
you need to do is to
Double click the InterCape shortcut on your desktop.

Right Click intercape dialer - choose PROPERTIES

tab should look like this:

Types tab should look like this:

| Then
choose, TCP/IP button & make sure that the TCP/IP Settings look like
this:

Scripting
tab should look like this:
choose OK button

Double
click the InterCape shortcut on your desktop
|
| a generic CONNECT TO: dialup box will
appear,
enter username & password so your dialer will
look similar to next image
|
Enter the following information that was provided
to you in your
InterCape Access Connection Letter
username: <type in your assigned username>
password: <type in your password|>
check SAVE PASSWORD
Phone Number: <local dialup number with area code>
click CONNECT button to log onto the Internet
Once
you successfully connect, your InterCape Dialer settings will remain
setup
as shown above.
